Can children learn to speak Spanish online? That is the question which many parents are asking themselves these days. Learning languages can really help to broaden a child’s mind and give them extra skills that they can use as they grow. However most schools do not teach languages to children under a certain age and so many children do miss out.

Whilst you may think that children cannot possibly learn languages until they are a certain age, generally you can learn a different language no matter how old you are. So if you would like your child to learn to speak Spanish, luckily you do have some options open to you.

Can Children Learn to Speak Spanish Online?

If you are still wondering can children learn to speak Spanish online, then the answer is yes. If your child is very young then obviously you will need to help him and supervise him with his learning. If on the other hand the child is older then he will find it a lot easier to learn on his own.

The best thing about children learning to speak Spanish online is that they can do it from the comfort of your own home. All children learn better when they interact with things and see pictures as well as words. So when you are searching for a good online course, you will want to ensure that it is interactive and colorful if possible.

3 Different Ways School Children Learn Material

Children want to succeed just as adults do this includes school work and assignments but all children learn differently.

One way that a child could learn is by watching someone doing it, while explaining it step by step. At first they may struggle to learn the new skill but once they grasp that information you can be assured that they know it. They have to visually see it being done then usually would like for that person to watch them do it to make sure that they are doing it correctly.

The second way that children learn is by reading it out of a book then applying what they learned and using that information. Some children and adults are not able to do that and would have a difficult learning if that was the only way to do it. This may be one of the hardest ways to learn something new.

The last way that children learn is by trail and error. This is mostly hands on experimental. These children like to be given a project then they would like to be left alone to figure it out for themselves. Many children will try to do something over and over again till they get it right. This can lead to frustration for the children. Many children will give up hope if they can not master it correctly within a few tries.

Not all children will learn the same way it is important to find out which way your child learns best then stick with that way. This is easier to do and accomplish if you are homeschooling your children, where you can take the time to teach them the way that they learn the best.

Review of The Children Learning Reading Program

Most parents of children between 3-5 years do not feel the necessity of teaching their children to read at home. “Where is the time and what’s the need when they will be going to school, next year” they explain. Understandably, when both partners work they are bound to be pressed for time. At best, they can spare an hour or so over the weekend, if there isn’t too much to do.

What if you were to learn that 15 minutes a day is all you need to help put your child on the path to reading proficiently. And it is hardly beneficial leaving it all to the school when you consider that:

1. According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress, 67% of all Grade 4 students cannot read at a proficient level,

2. The U.K. government’s Department of Education reported that 42% of children left school without achieving a basic level of functional English. Over 100,000 students leave schools functionally illiterate, in the UK each year,

3. The Australian Government Department of Education reported that 33% of all 5 -year old students cannot meet the benchmark literacy skills,

4. And in Canada, 42% of Canadians are considered semi-illiterate.

Unfortunately, the reason that makes these literacy statistics shocking is because in these countries English is the first language. Worldwide, wherever English is spoken but is not the native language, the results are generally more satisfying.

“Many in-service teachers are not knowledgeable in the basic concepts of the English language. They do not know how to address the basic building blocks of language and reading.” This is a finding from a study done at the Texas A&M University.

The Children Learning Reading program addresses all the foundational skills that will make your child into a super fluent reader. This simple, step-by-step program is designed to show you how to help your young child develop exceptional phonemic awareness skills, and reading capabilities. After an extensive review of over 1,960 clinical studies, the National Reading Panel has gone as far as to say that “teaching phonics and phonemic awareness produces better reading results than whole language (conventional) programs. Teaching phonemic awareness improves a child’s reading, reading comprehension, and spelling abilities.”

A major shortcoming of the conventional system is that children develop a tendency to guess, skip over, or replace words they don’t know and this hampers their ability to learn to read.

What you must remember is that your child’s vocabulary and reading ability in first grade strongly predicts the subsequent outcome in grade 11 and poor reading skills are a threat to a High School graduation. Research has shown that If a child’s reading difficulties are not addressed early, chances are that child will never acquire sufficient reading skills.

In Stage I, the Children Learning Reading program is designed to help your child develop exceptional phonemic awareness and reading skills and your child will have developed a rock solid foundation. Because children have very short attention spans, this program is designed to be short, simple, interesting, and extremely effective. Either parent will have to spare only 10 to 15 minutes a day. Stage 2 lessons are more advanced and you will be amazed at your child’s reading ability after completing the entire program.

As a parent you will learn how to properly sound out letters, read words and sentences when teaching your children to read. And let this system share with you key techniques and methods that are critical to teaching young children to read, and discover practical tips on how to best adapt this program to meet your needs to fit your schedule.

It is appreciated that there are many different approaches to teaching English. Some teachers prefer the whole-language approach, while others prefer to separate skills based on listening, speaking, reading and writing. The object of this article is not to denigrate any system of teaching or to cast aspersions on the ability of any individual to teach properly..

Children Learning to Read

It is truly amazing how fast children can learn different things. Their minds are constantly turning, trying to figure things out. They are trying to take in as much information as they possibly can. Unfortunately, not all of this knowledge is what we as parents think is acceptable material.

There is so much negative material in the world these days. Parents have to watch almost everything that their children are into. None of us want are children to learn from the wrong influence. It is important for us to be the main teachers in their lives. Due to this, we have to find more creative and interesting ways for children learn.

One of the main aspects to learning, is reading. It is an amazing and sometimes complicated adventure. In order to keep children interested, we need to keep things simple and fun. You can always tell when they become bored with something because it turns into a big fight to get them to do what we need and want them to do. For this reason, we need to make sure that learning to read never becomes tedious and boring.

Children love to be hands on. It is one of the best way that children can learn to read. They are always curious about the adventures that are going on. They love to know why certain things are happening and what exactly is going to happen next. This lets us know that they are curious, which is a huge part of the learning process. We need to keep them interactive so they want to continue the process.

This is important from the time they are a newborn and it continues throughout their school career. A lot of parents like to use flashcards for teaching their children to read. Using this technique is a great idea. However some children will get bored with the flashcards. Why? It is pretty much the same thing over and over again. You show them a word to get them to sound out and when they get it right, you flip the card over to show them the picture. Over time, children will want a new way to learn new words for reading. Other ways of getting a child to learn to read is by playing different word games. Again a wonderful way of learning, but you constantly have to come up with new games to keep the children in tune with what they are learning.

The best way that I have found to teach my children to read, is by making every reading experience personal. How do I do this? I have found that using personalized children’s books is amazing. From the time they are a newborn, they can be the star. They become the main character in the story and the adventure becomes real to them. It is like they are living the story for real. The great thing is that there is no stopping what type of adventure they can be the star of. There are so many different stories that can capture their dreams and keep them interactive for years.

My children never quit talking about the adventures they have lived through these books. They are always ready for the next reading time. They can’t wait to see where they are going next. They love the fact that their friends and family are in the book. They start to learn the words and how to sound out the hard ones without me even asking them to do so.

Children love the opportunity to be the center of attention, so why not allow them to be through reading. We can show them how special they are, while actually teaching them to read. Not a lot of children like to learn if they know it is learning. So, disguise it to make it fun and they will learn faster than ever.

Three Studying Habits That Will Quickly Get You Better Grades

Power Studying

We all love studying don’t we? Nothing better than good old studying. That’s what you’re thinking right? Can’t wait to hit the books each night after school? Yes? No? What do you mean am I crazy?

We want you to maximize every minute spent studying and as a result maximize every minute you don’t have to study! That’s right; we want you to study less. Every day. We want you to study less by learning how to power study – to study with super powerful efficiency and effectiveness which will cut the amount of time spent studying down to nothing! OK, that’s a lie – but you get the drift. You have to study anyway, so why not learn how to learn more in less time?

So what are we waiting for? Let’s get cracking on the new habits you are going to introduce and start putting into practise from today. Here they come – are you ready for them?

Successful students do the following:

Never Over-Study

As soon as you spend too much time studying you will quickly lose focus and the time spent studying will become ‘junk time’. Junk time is when you think you’re studying but you’re just sitting there re-reading the same sentence about 100 times. You’re studying, but you’re not getting anywhere. You’re the mouse on the wheel. Round and round you go. Instead, take regular breaks. We’d recommend a 15 minute break for every 30 minutes of work completed. So it’s a 2 to 1 ratio. For every 2 hours you spend studying over a 3 hour period, at least 1 hour of that should be break time. Taking breaks will restore your energy and refresh your mind – plus it will give your mind some time to take in what you have been doing (this is very useful when you are doing memory activities). That doesn’t mean you should spend the break thinking about what you’ve been doing. To the contrary, allow your mind to rest by doing something completely different. Finally, don’t study for more than 45 minutes in any one sitting if you can avoid it. The brain tends to switch off at the 45 minute mark. Huh? Switch off? I was wondering if mine would ever switch on!

Plan Their Study

Successful students actually plan what they are going to do during their study time. As in, they actually plan the time they will be studying and they set goals for what they will achieve during their study. For example, your new habit could be saying ‘I will study from 5 o’clock to 6.30 pm with a 15 minute break at 5.45 pm. At 6.30 pm I will have done all my maths worksheets and my history homework. I will then go online and get some solid Facebook time under my belt. Planning is no joke. If you want to be successful, do what successful students do. Create a plan, establish a goal and then stick to it like super glue. By having set times for doing work each day it will create a routine for you and as every good teacher will tell you, a routine is the first step towards developing a habit. And this habit is good. When you know that you have committed to work at a specific time each day you will be mentally prepared for it. You will know that 5 o’clock is study time. Just like you know 7 o’clock is dinner time (for some people!). Goal setting is also important. If you sit down with no clear thoughts about what you’re trying to achieve during your study time you will just pointlessly drift along without knowing if you’ve done what you’re supposed to do. So, create a target to achieve and focus your energy towards it. You won’t regret it!

Front Up To The Toughest Work First

Let’s face it, when completing tasks we all love to do the easy things first. Why? Because it build our confidence. We get excited when we’re ticking items off our to-do list. BANG! 1st item ticked off. BANG! Double tick that item now I’m rolling. The only problem with the tick-off easy items first approach is that you use up your best energy at the start of any study session and so if you are tackling the easy parts with your best energy your energy reserves will be low when it comes time to tackle the hard part of what you need to get done. So what happens then? Bet you can’t guess! You can guess? That’s right – you get tired, you get grumpy, you get frustrated and then just give up and go play Xbox. We all do it. We really shouldn’t though. So get in the habit of dedicating your best energy to the difficult tasks first and completing the easy ‘I can do it with my eyes closed’ stuff last.

Good Study Habits for Everyone

The question many academics and psychologists ask is why do some students do better than the others? Is it just IQ and genetics or there is more to it. No one will dispute that good studying habits has a crucial role to play.

Studying is a skill. It is an essential skill all students should possess. To be successful in school requires a high level of study skills.

This skill ought to be nurtured and developed. To be successful at school, students ought to first learn these skills, practice them and develop good study habits.

Good study habits include many different skills. Some of the skills are; self-discipline, time management, memorization, concentration, organization, and effort. The effect of having a great desire and passion to succeed cannot be under estimated.

Attitude matters. Having the right attitude for study is about the best study habit a student can have. Researchers have found that how one approaches something or a task matter almost as much as what the task or thing itself.

Having the right mindset is important in order to study well. There are times you just not in the right frame of mind to study. The best thing to do is just to avoid studying and have some relaxation. If your mind is occupied by other things, just clear your mind before returning to studying.

Here are some lists of good study habits:

Organizing your Time.
It is important to plan your study time. It is advisable to leave enough time for each of your subjects and more time for the more difficult subjects. It is advisable to comply with the study time requirement for the particular subject as stipulated by your school, college, or university.

Prioritizing your time
Prioritize your time and put off other activities to allow you to focus and for adequate study time. If you are a slow reader, it is advisable you plan your time well and give yourself more time.

Keep a weekly and monthly schedule planner
Keep record of due dates of assignments, tests, papers, field trips, etc. Transfer important dates from your syllabus to your weekly/monthly planner. Prioritize your work in order to meet your deadlines.

Study in a place you feel comfortable.
Study in a place that is conducive. Where there is a lot of distractions become a poor study area. Study in a place you feel comfortable to study. Different people like different study environment. Study in an area that is set up for serious study. Have your learning tools and materials ready for study i.e your textbooks, notebooks, highlighter, pens, pencils, computer, dictionary, thesaurus, etc. Be sure the area is well-lit and conducive. It is advisable you choose a place free from noise and distractions, and not too comfortable. Keep interruptions like phones ringing, doors opening and closing, and people coming and going to the minimum. Also try to study in the same place every day.

Practice by yourself or with friends
Practice makes perfect. Continually learn and memorize what you have learnt. Go over what you are learning over and over again and good assimilation. Practice with yourself or friends by testing yourself with practice past exams questions, quizzes, or flash cards. Set likely exams questions for yourself and see how you perform. Go over what you have gotten wrong and find out why you get them wrong. Learn from your mistakes. When learning, take notes and write down key important points.

Take breaks (and rewards!)
Many people view studying as a chore or task, this is human nature. When you are tired, take a break. The brain can only assimilate so much at a time. It is always advisable to plan your breaks in the short and long term. Reward and motivate yourself for any successful milestone.

Learn for knowledge not for exam
A real study is not just about passing an exam. Studying should be an effort to actually learn things and gain vital knowledge. Learning for exam is frustrating and students are often under pressure. Learning for knowledge is actually easier and stays in the long term memory rather than the short memory.
